4 Signs you need to change your job

New year, new you? January brings an onslaught of ways everyone is trying to reinvent themselves for the new year. To some it might be a better diet or to others a more positive attitude, but have you thought about the job you're in? January means you're ready for a new challenge but some may be too scared to jump the gun. Here are 4 signs you need to change your job.

1) Mornings just aren't cutting it anymore

There are very few morning people in the world, but after a coffee (or three!) you start to get into the work mind set and before you know it lunch has arrived. If your work bores you so much you struggle to get through it, it might be time to change the job. A job should enthuse you, make you feel happy and like you're doing something worthwhile. Not like a chore.

2) You're anxious all the time

Sometimes it's not just about being bored, but your mental health too. January is a great time to reflect on the previous year and upon your reflections you might have noticed how you felt at work. Stress is a natural part of work life, but if you feel like you were susceptible to a lot of it last year it might be a sign that you need to slow down a bit and seek an environment that values your mental health more. Remember, anything that costs your patience is too expensive.

3) It's all feeling a bit mundane

It's nice to have a bit of repetition or schedule, organisation does help the world go round! But if you feel like you're stuck in the same rut day in and day out doing the same old thing, then it might be time to find something a little more challenging. Whether you're looking to go into a different career entirely or just looking to learn some new skills, finding a course or a new job is a great way to handle it.

4) The Big Bad Boss

Having a reason to change your job doesn't even have to be something wrong with the job or you, it can be your boss. If your boss is someone who you feel doesn't value you or what you contribute to your company, is patronising or exhibits typical negative behaviour it might be worth switching them for someone who will.
